AN UPDATE ON ENVIRONMENTAL ENFORCEMENT, NEW AIR POLLUTION MODELLING & CONTROL REQUIREMENTS, AND CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES
The importance of air pollution control cannot be understated. Recent environmental enforcement action in Canada has shown that it pays to be in environmental compliance when it comes to air issues.
This presentation will provide an overview of what is new in Canada with respect to recent fines meted out for non-compliance with air pollution regulations, including the $1 million fine imposed on a company for persistent odour control issues. It will also discuss recent regulatory changes and revised interpretations on technical guidance that will potentially make it more difficult to obtain an environmental permit. Finally, the presentation will discuss some innovative technologies for the control of air pollutants and management of odour with a cost-benefit analysis.
The presenters are Bill Mullin and John Nicholson, are two industry experts with over 50 years of combined experience dealing with environmental issues including air pollution and odours. During this 45-minute session, they will be discussing the following:
- A summary of the latest environmental enforcement actions in Canada with respect to air pollution and odour issues;
- A discussion on new regulatory instructions and interpretations with respect to air pollution modelling and emission limits;
- Innovative air pollution and odour control technologies with a cost-benefit analysis.
This presentation will be of value to consultants, plant managers, facility owners, officers and directors of industrial companies, and others interested persons.
