Innovative Methods in Site Characterization
It is essential that practitioners have up-to-date information on the new innovative techniques for site investigation and characterization that are being developed. This year’s SABCS technical workshop brings together experts from Canada and the United States with expertise in techniques that are rapidly being incorporated into professional practice. Presentations in the workshop include CSIA – Compound Specific Isotope Analysis, genomics and microbial identification, innovative analytical applications and current approaches to NSZD – Natural Source Zone Degradation, and plume delineation in groundwater undergoing Monitored Natural Attenuation (MNA). Recently completed studies in leachate testing and its application in site specific risk assessment will be provided in two BC Ministry of Environment presentations.
